American Martial Arts Academy - Placentia / Yorba Linda Branch

American Martial Arts Academy (AMAA) is the most professional, family oriented, student focused Karate Studio I have ever seen and unfortunately those words do not do it justice. Our son has flourished under the care of Sensei Nikhil Joshi, Sensei Megan Joshi, and Instructor Nathaniel Sims. They all take such pride in teaching their students and you can clearly see the affect it has. Not only are the instructors amazing but the staff including Dana Haney, Leah Feldman, and Jill Baxter are absolutely fantastic. On top of the staff, countless black belt volunteers show up to assist junior students as they take their journey towards becoming a black belt. Their resources have been truly endless.

We have seen our sons confidence, patience, respect, integrity, coordination, focus, leadership skills, personal interaction skills and even grades drastically change for the better. Best of all they treat everyone like family, and not just the students, but the families as well. it takes a village to raise a child and this is the best village I have ever found. Most of our sons closest friends now come from the studio rather than school.

Last year AMAA started their after school child care program, which services Brookhaven and Golden Elementary Schools and now have expanded to even more schools in the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District. We made the choice to move or son into AMAA after school child care program and within the first three months we saw a drastic increase in his grades as compared to the first three months of previous years. I attribute this to the one on one interaction they have with him and the personal attention and help they provide with his homework. To be honest it is like having a personal tutor built into the program. He is happier then he has ever been and his goal is to eventually join the staff at AMAA.

I could go on and on but people will stop reading so I will end with this. There is only one choice if you want your child or yourself to learn the martial arts and that is American Martial Arts Academy. They also have the best after school child program in the Placentia/Fullerton area.

As a “senior citizen” I found that Karate is a kind-to-the-joints sport. Four of my 5 grandkids ages 4-10 take lessons and are doing great and getting self-defense lessons in classes.

Hi, I'm Jack's mom. He seems to really enjoy the classes. He even said they were "very fun". I enjoy watching him learning to focus himself on the tasks he's given and I think he might even be making new friends. I've seen the difference at home already, after only two classes. I even recommended your classes to my aunt, for her grandson. We look forward to our next class.

AMAA is an awesome place to learn! The instructors are great and they really know how to work with kids. At this studio they not only teach karate, but they also teach respect and kindness for others. The kids even learn what to do if a stranger ever tries to grab them. At this studio you don't just feel like you're part of a team, you feel like family. AMAA is also very big on giving back to the community. The studio does free workshops and even teaches in some of the local schools. My son and I love this studio and highly recommend it!

We love this place, teachers are awesome, they care about the kids and they are very focused on teach them well. I have to kids attending classes here and I see a lot of change on them, they are more confident and focused. Also, they take time to teach the kids one by one to ensure that they are on right track. Owers and the personal working there are very friendly.
My kids are very happy here.
